Swann Morton

Swann Mor­ton was found­ed in Sheffield in 1932 by Wal­ter R. Swann, J.A. Mor­ton, and D. Fair­weath­er. By 1957, Swann-Mor­ton was pro­duc­ing over 38 mil­lion blades annu­al­ly. It spe­cial­izes in man­u­fac­tur­ing sur­gi­cal blades, scalpels, and han­dles, export­ing its prod­ucts to over 100 coun­tries world­wide. Swann Mor­ton sur­gi­cal equip­ment finds appli­ca­tion in med­i­cine among sur­geons, gen­er­al prac­ti­tion­ers, nurs­es, para­medics, and oth­er health­care work­ers. The man­u­fac­tur­er also offers spe­cial sys­tems for touch­less removal of all sizes of scalpel blades from han­dles. The com­pa­ny also adheres to prin­ci­ples of Eth­i­cal Trad­ing Pol­i­cy, Sup­pli­er Code of Con­duct, and Con­flict Mate­ri­als Pol­i­cy.

Surgical equipment, scalpels, and surgical blades

Stan­dard scalpels, as well as scalpels with addi­tion­al plas­tic guards and ster­ile dis­pos­able scalpels, pro­vide ease of use in many sce­nar­ios – in hos­pi­tal wards, emer­gency rooms, or dur­ing res­cue oper­a­tions per­formed by emer­gency teams. Ster­ile stain­less steel blades are used for inci­sions in the tym­pan­ic mem­brane. They are com­pat­i­ble with han­dles from the ‘Fine’ group. The blade allows for inci­sions from both the top and bot­tom. Blades with 34 dif­fer­ent shapes and 12 dif­fer­ent han­dles are used in all fields of surgery, includ­ing car­diac, ortho­pe­dic, and recon­struc­tive surgery. Swann Mor­ton also pro­duces a range of ster­ile sur­gi­cal blades made from car­bon steel or stain­less steel, per­fect­ly suit­able for podi­a­trists and pedi­a­tri­cians.
